Growmoor Better Growing was established in 1991 on the outskirts of Dungannon, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland and it has a combined experience spanning almost 50 years which started as a small family company supplying potting soil and substrates for the local amateur gardening market.In recent years it has further expanded creating its own comprehensive range of hobby gardener composts and developing sales into the professional grower market supplying custom made substrate for specific commercial grower needs of the highest quality using the most modern and technical machinery, taking into consideration the individual requirements, management and local climate.Since 2000 Growmoor has ongoing investments of over 2m ($4 million dollars) in rebuilding a new factory complete with the introduction of two extra fully automated production lines, which combine with the original production lines can produce an average of 250,000+ cubic meters per annum of mixed potting soil, substrate and peat moss, with a workforce of 35 operatives across the business. As well as the production facilities, Growmoor has a total of about 600 hectares of peat deposits in three separate locations in Ireland, ranging from blonde peat moss to black.The variety of material supplied puts Growmoor in a very strong position as it can draw the raw material from the different sites and blend according to the customers requirement. Although Growmoor has been exporting for sometime now, it has expanded its market quite considerably in the last few years throughout its huge home market of Ireland and the UK to the Middle East, North Africa, Canary Islands and Far East to.Today Growmoor is at the leading edge of production techniques creating consistent quality products for garden centres, multiple store groups, professional growers and important world export markets. The company has also been awarded the significant ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance registration to underpin its real commitment to assured quality and service levels.In 2004 the Company achieved the prestigious IS0 9001:2000 quality assurance status.
